Manchester United target Denzel Dumfries has opened the door for a Premier League move despite his successful career at Inter Milan.
The Dutchman had a low €28m release clause in his contract during the recent transfer window, but there were no realistic offers on the table.
Barcelona were linked with his services early on, but the Catalan giants decided to extend the contract of Jules Kounde instead.
Dumfries ended up staying put, but he has expressed his desire to play in the Premier League. United have been his long-term admirers.
He recently said: "I play in Serie A and I'm comfortable at Inter, but I think I could do well in the Premier League too. I'd definitely be interested."
United were heavily linked with Dumfries when Erik ten Hag was the manager, but the interest had diminished under Ruben Amorim.
It remains to be seen whether the Mancunian giants revive their pursuit of the Dutchman, now that he has opened the door for an England switch.
