The west London giants have suffered a dip in form since the last international break. They are winless in the last three league matches with just one point.

The Blues face another stern challenge against Liverpool on the road on Saturday. Ahead of the game, the club have suffered another untimely setback.

Andrey Santos was absent for the 1-0 win over Benfica in the Champions League last night. It has since been confirmed that he will be sidelined for a while with an injury.

Santos is set to miss the weekend's encounter against the Reds. This is another setback for the Blues, who are missing several key players in the early phase of the season.

They have limited resources in the central defensive department with Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo and Trevoh Chalobah ruled out for Saturday's encounter.
