Chelsea have decided against fast-tracking Emmanuel Emegha's move from Strasbourg in January after another long-term injury for Liam Delap.
Delap has had an injury-plagued campaign with the Blues and he recently dislocated his shoulder against Bournemouth in the Premier League.
As a result, the Englishman could be out of action for around two months, but the Blues are not expected to pursue a new striker due to the setback.
Emegha is scheduled to join the Blues from sister club Strasbourg next summer, and they have no plans to accelerate his transfer next month.
The Dutchman has likewise had an injury-hampered campaign at Strasbourg, and he has made only 11 appearances in all competitions.
He has still impressed with seven goals and two assists thus far and the Blues want him to continue his development before a summer switch.
The Blues are expected to rely on Pedro Neto, Joao Pedro and Marc Guiu upfront until Delap returns to action in the back end of the campaign.
