Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has urged the club's hierarchy to sign Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes as his replacement this summer, according to AS.
The Red Devils are preparing for a busy summer transfer window. They look on course to qualify for the Champions League and this could pave the way for a huge spending spree.
A marquee defensive midfielder will be signed with Casemiro on his way out. The club have already confirmed that the Brazilian will depart when his contract expires this summer.
AS now claim that Guimaraes is one of the top targets on the club's radar and Casemiro has personally recommended United's hierarchy to secure a deal for his Brazilian compatriot.
United also hold an interest in the 28-year-old midfielder but a deal won't be easy to secure with the Magpies set to demand a staggering £131 million to part ways with their captain.
It appears unlikely that the Red Devils will make such a huge outlay on the Brazilian, given they are likely to want funds to bolster other positions and add depth within the squad.
