Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka during the summer transfer window.
The German has entered the last six months of his contract with the Bundesliga holders. He has confirmed that he will leave on a free transfer.
Arsenal and Spurs were linked with a mid-season move for the former Schalke man, but he decided to see out the campaign with Bayern.
It is now reported that Goretzka sees his future away from Germany and has no plans of playing for another Bundesliga outfit in his career.
Instead, he prefers to move abroad during the final phase and could give preference to a Premier League switch during the summer.
The Gunners could be best placed to land his signature. They are already in pole position to secure Champions League football next term.
Spurs may not be a lucrative option for the experienced ace, particularly if they were to be relegated to the Championship next season.
