Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has returned to team training ahead of the Premier League clash against Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The England international has been on the sidelines since the Manchester derby in early January. Manager Michael Carrick has repeatedly said that he is not far away from a comeback and the midfielder has now officially returned to first-team training after two long months.
Mount is still not 100 percent and Carrick refused to confirm whether he will make the squad to face the Villans on Sunday. The former Chelsea man may require a late fitness test before the encounter.
While Mount has an outside chance of making the game, there will be no places for Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt or Patrick Dorgu, who have been ruled out of the clash with respective injuries.
Among the trio, Martinez is the most likely candidate to return soon. The Argentine could be deemed fit after the international break.
