Man Utd to make £15M bid for Roque

04 June 2008 - 08:20

Manchester United are planning to make a £15M bid for Blackburn's towering striker Roque Santa Cruz. Sir Alex Ferguson has apparently declared the 26 year old to be the main summer signing.

  • Chelsea want to sign Roggerio Nyakossi
  • Cole Palmer open to joining Man Utd
  • <font face="Georgia">The latest reports suggest that Manchester United are preparing a bid of £15M for Blackburn's Paraguya international, Roque Santa Cruz. United are short of a striker of top quality and Ferguson feels that Roque can fill the gap.

Roque Santa Cruz arrived at Blackburn from German giants Bayern Munich for £3.5M, a deal that was worth every penny for the Rovers. He scored 19 goals in 36 appearance for the club and was one of the best players of the Premier League.

Blackburn have not responded to the bid, and have not confirmed the bid from Manchester United. They are still trying to persuade Mark Hughes to stay at Ewood Park.
