Torres turned down big 3

Torres turned down big 3

17 September 2007 - 15:28

Fernando Torres revealed today that, had things gone differently, he may now be wearing a different Premier League shirt. The Liverpool striker has revealed that at some point in his career he turned down Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal before plumping for a move to Liverpool.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd can finally sign Ederson for huge bargain fee
  • "Offers came in from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, but at the time I preferred to stay with Atletico," he told LiverpoolFC.tv.

"I've improved a great deal as a player since joining Liverpool, my movement improving with the time I've spent here."

Surprisingly, during Torres' time at Atletico Madrid, he never had the opportunity to play European football. This year Atletico have finally secured UEFA Cup Football for the first time, but Torres is happy to be playing Champions League football for Liverpool.

"Everybody wants to play in Europe and be named amongst the greats," he said.

"That's why I came here: for the challenge, not the money. I want the chance to win things and believe that I can do that with Liverpool."
