Chelsea set for massive double injury boost vs Liverpool

Chelsea could receive a double injury boost ahead of the Premier League encounter against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

  • The Blues have been in a poor run of league form and have suffered six defeats on the bounce. As a result, they are languishing ninth in the standings with 48 points and need to arrest the slide in the final three games of the season.

Ahead of Saturday's early kick-off at Anfield, interim manager Calum McFarlane has already ruled out the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Pedro Neto and Robert Sanchez with minor injury concerns.

However, there could be a big double boost with the caretaker confirming that Reece James and Levi Colwill have trained completely with the squad and could be in contention to start versus the Reds.

He said: "We have a few lads returning. Levi has trained a full week again. Reece as well. Looking promising. We've still got another session. We're hopeful [they could start]."

Colwill has not played any part this campaign after a serious knee injury last summer and the Englishman may need to be handled cautiously.
