Arsenal defender Ben White has avoided surgery for a knee injury sustained against West Ham United last weekend.
The Englishman suffered a medial knee ligament injury against the Hammers at the London Stadium, and has already been ruled out for the campaign.
It was initially claimed that he could undergo an operation, but reports now cite that he may not require a procedure to make a successful recovery.
Despite this, White is facing a race against time to be fit for the World Cup. He remains doubtful to make Thomas Tuchel's England squad.
White worked hard to get back into England contention, and he will be bitterly disappointed if he does not travel to North America.
Meanwhile, there has been a potential boost for other key stars. Mikel Merino and Jurrien Timber could be at the summer World Cup.
The pair may not feature for the Gunners again this season, but are building up their fitness ahead of representing their nations this summer.
