Arsenal are not exploring a move for Roma midfielder Manu Kone despite the recent speculation, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners are keen to land a new midfielder this summer, and recent reports in Italy have claimed that they have agreed personal terms with Kone.
It was further mentioned that Arsenal are weighing up a formal offer and could sign him this month, with Roma eager to balance their books.
However, Romano has now dismissed this, clarifying that the Premier League champions are not eyeing a deal for the Frenchman.
Kone was on the Gunners' radar earlier in the year, but the hierarchy are looking for a different profile of a midfielder for manager Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal would ideally prefer a more creative midfielder. Therefore, Kone is not a target for the London giants at the current point in time.
Kone could still be Premier League-bound. Newcastle United and Aston Villa have also been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old.
