Arsenal want to sign Óscar Mingueza

Premier League champions Arsenal are reportedly interested in Celta Vigo right-back Óscar Mingueza, as the Gunners look set to make a move for a replacement for Ben White. It is understood that White could depart the Emirates Stadium this summer as Mikel Arteta plans a squad refresh.

  • Arsenal had a hugely impressive campaign, and if there was one area of the pitch that Mikel Arteta would have hoped he had more reinforcements it was at the right-back position. Ben White sustained various injuries throughout the season, and Jurrien Timber also missed a few months of the campaign, leaving Cristhian Mosquera as a backup full-back.

Mingueza has been with Celta since 2022, and prior to that spent several years with Barcelona, appearing 46 times in La Liga. It is understood that Celta would accept around 23 million euros for the defender, who has four caps to his name.

Arsenal manager Arteta has been given a transfer budget of around £125 million to spend this summer, and rather than making a move for a marquee name it is understood that the Spaniard is looking to make several reinforcements and in Mingueza he sees a solid squad player.
