Atletico Madrid have their sights on selling Julian Alvarez to Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to Sport.
The Gunners have held a long-term interest in Alvarez and it is widely known that manager Mikel Arteta is a big admirer of him.
Alvarez, on his part, prefers a move to Barcelona instead, but Atletico are adamant that they won't sell the striker to the Blaugrana.
The La Liga giants are disappointed that Barcelona are tapping up the player and won't sell for less than his €500 million release clause.
On the other hand, they are prepared to accept €60m plus Viktor Gyokeres from the Gunners for the services of the World Cup winner.
Arsenal have reportedly paused their interest in Alvarez, but they could be open to discussing a deal if the 26-year-old changes his stance.
Alvarez has not ruled out joining Arsenal or PSG, suppose his dream move to Barcelona fails to materialises in the next few weeks.
