Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has already signed a two-year contract to join Chelsea, according to journalist Gaston Edul.
The World Cup winner was offered to the Blues earlier this week, and the London giants have since reached an agreement with Villa.
A £7.5m deal was recently finalised, and Edul claims that the 33-year-old has since undergone a medical and signed a two-year deal.
Robert Sanchez has been Chelsea's first-choice shot-stopper for the past few years, but Martinez's arrival could change things in goal.
Sanchez made a high-profile error in the 3-2 win over Fulham in the Premier League opener last weekend and could be replaced soon.
The Spaniard is poised to start against his former club Brighton & Hove Albion, and it remains to be seen whether he does against Arsenal.
Chelsea have had a bad record against the Gunners over the past five years, and could hand Martinez his debut against his former employers next weekend.
