Atletico Madrid are preparing to step up their pursuit of Arsenal winger Noni Madueke ahead of the winter transfer window.
The La Liga giants were keen on landing Viktor Gyokeres in a player-plus-cash deal for Julian Alvarez this summer, but the latter decided against moving on.
Alvarez continues to insist on joining Barcelona in either January or next summer. It is now claimed that Atletico are exploring a deal for Madueke instead.
The Madrid outfit are exploring a short-term loan for the England international with an option to buy at the end of the ongoing campaign.
Madueke has barely played in the Premier League this season with Bukayo Saka being an undisputed starter in the right wing for the Gunners.
His situation may not improve anytime soon and this could emerge as a possible reason for him to pursue a new challenge away from the club.
Still, we don't see the prospect of him leaving the club this winter.
