There have been reports on Sunday morning that Bolton could make a swoop for Newcastle United's controversial midfielder Joey Barton this summer, who is currently in jail.
It is understood that Barton has been told by Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan that he has no future at the club.
Now Bolton are seemingly prepared to give the player a lifeline - and a Premiership chance - if he completes his shock move to the Reebok Stadium.
