RvP eyes Dutch start

18 June 2008 - 14:18

Robin van Persie is hoping that he can win a starting berth for the Euro 2008 quarter final after an impressive tournament so far. However, the Arsenal man is wary that the Dutch sides other players have also been in good form of late.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • "Of course I want to start the game, every player does,” said Van Persie. “But there is a lot of competition with the strikers here - which you can see from the fact we have scored nine goals already in three games.

"I would like to play but I will trust and respect the decision of the manager. He knows what is best for the team and whatever he decides I will give everything I can to help the team."
