Chivu: we deserved exit

Christian Chivu has revealed for the first time he feels that his Romania side probably deserved their unfortunate exit from the Euro 2008. Romania were unable to escape from the 'Group of Death'.

“It is tough, but we weren’t good enough to get through to the quarter-finals,” Chivu admitted.



“We had high hopes and we wanted to get through at all costs, but we didn’t have the ability to create enough chances to progress.



“Holland didn’t need to win, but they did. Even the second-string are very good and they will be such a tough team to beat.



“We are going home and that is the frustrating reality of the situation.”
