Michael Owen has been sensationally linked with a move from Newcastle to Premiership rivals Manchester United. It is understood that if Ronaldo leaves, Sir Alex Ferguson will be pulling out all of the stops to land Owen.

Owen has been somewhat unhappy at Newcastle, with his lack of form keeping him out of the England side, but always maintained he wished to stay at the club.



Now Man Utd are understood to be ready to make an offer for Owen should Ronaldo leave, one that Owen will be reluctant to reject.



Owen is valued at around £10 million by his club Newcastle.
