Twente in for Shola Ameobi?

Steve McClaren's first signing since being appointed the new boss of FC Twente in the Eredivisie could well be the Newcastle United forward Shola Ameobi; who has been linked with a summer exit for over a month.

It is understood that Ameobi has a number of options available to him, with West Brom and Stoke City both reportedly keen on the forward.



However, Steve McClaren has reportedly made an offer to Newcastle for the England Under-21 striker as he looks to bring in some English talent to the Netherlands.



Shola Ameobi is expected to be allowed to leave Newcastle for a projected £1.75 million transfer fee.
