Gomes: I'd rejoin PSV Eindhoven

06 July 2008 - 01:21

New Tottenham goalkeeper Huerelho Gomes has admitted he would be more than happy to consider returning to Holland to play for PSV Eindhoven. The Spurs keeper had only recently completed a £7 million switch to the Premiership.

  • Arsenal to battle Napoli to sign Alexsandro Ribeiro?

  • “Both me and my family have Eindhoven, PSV and their supporters in our hearts forever,” read Gomes’ letter on PSV’s official website.

“We will follow the club’s achievements with a keen interest. On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to sincerely thank the club, the squad and PSV’s fantastic fans for their great support.

“I wish I could say goodbye to everybody in person and hopefully, I will have an opportunity once to do so.

“I am grateful to the Dutch population for giving me such a wonderful reception. I have always been treated with friendship and respect, also during the away games, even though the home fans will not always have liked my shot-stopping capacities.

“I have the deep wish to be able to defend the PSV goal again sometime. Nobody knows when that will happen but hopefully I will then enjoy the same wonderful reception.”
