Portuguese giants Benfica have made a formal bid for the Espanyol Barcelona striker Luis Garcia and according to certain reports emanating from Spain, a deal would be struck soon.

Garcia has long been linked with Benfica and the player’s agent Julio Prieto has confirmed that a deal has been put on the table by Benfica. El Mundo Deportivo has backed Prieto’s claim by reporting that Benfica have actually made a 8 million pound offer.



Espanyol seem to have been made a transfer target for the major clubs in Europe as several of their players are speculated to be heading towards the exit door.
