Arsenal ease Adebayor stranglehold

Arsenal have finally conceded defeat to their striker Emmanuel Adebayor as they have agreed to trim down their asking price for the player.

  • The 24-year old Togo international had already given a notice to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger saying that he wants to leave the Emirates this summer.

AC Milan appear to be his most likely destination and have also reported to have made a bid for the hotshot. But Milan say that they shall pay as much as 25 million euros but not more whereas Arsenal had said so far that they want at least 35 million euros.

Now of course it has been declared by Adebayor's agent that the Gunners have agreed to step down their asking rate for the player.

"We are going towards more reasonable figures that are within Milan's reach, as they had placed a ceiling on the bid they were willing to make," Italian agent Vincenzo Morabito told Antenna 3.

"It is much, much lower than the £32m initially requested. In fact, it's a little bit more than half that figure.

"It is still below the asking price of Samuel Eto'o and Didier Drogba, but they are a little older.

"We are working to facilitate the negotiations. The signs are very positive."
