Valencia to launch Etoo bid

Valencia to launch Eto'o bid

16 July 2008 - 16:17

Spanish club Valencia are looking to launch an ambitious bid for the want-away FC Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Catalan sports daily Sport reports that Los Che have now sidelined their bid for the Real Zaragoza striker Diego Milito and have now shifted their attention towards the Cameroonian international centre forward.

Barcelona have made it clear that they do not want Eto'o in their squad for next season, a statement that new Barca coach Josep Guardiola himself has acknowledged publicly.

Eto'o in turn is not too eager to discuss freely all the rumours surrounding his future at Camp Nou but it is believed that he too wants to break away from the Camp Nou cathedral.

Sport now reports that Valencia, who of course have financial worries of their own, are looking to land Samuel Eto'o at the Mestalla and are putting together a bid of 17 million pounds for the player.
