Guti Stirs Up Ronaldo Rumours

Guti Stirs Up Ronaldo Rumours

24 July 2008 - 04:58

Real Madrid midfielder Guti has stirred the now cooling Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga by claiming that the induction of Ronaldo in the club set-up would be a boon rather than a bane.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Guti, a some time Spanish international footballer who has been regular for the Merengues for the past two title winning seasons, is confident that the 23-year old Portuguese international is the best player for any club at the moment and says that he would be a good influence footballing wise.

Real Madrid have been touted to sign the star player from Manchester United this season but talks took a dip towards the abyss when Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson declared that Ronaldo shall stay on at Old Trafford for next season.

Guti though welcomes Ronaldo at the Bernabeu and says that the players would enjoy playing with the tricky winger.

"Real Madrid need good players and Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player you can bring in right now," Guti said at a press conference.

"We would be delighted to have him. He wouldn't upset the good atmosphere, and anyway people tell me he's a great person and a good team player.

"Everyone works to earn as much as they can get and if he's one of the best players in the world he should earn more.

"Maybe he won't win you the Champions League on his own, but he's very tricky and he'll win you games. With players like that you've always got chances to win plenty of titles."
