Arsenal consider Baraja

28 July 2008 - 08:55

Arsenal are rumoured to be interested in signing 33 year old veteran midfielder Ruben Baraja from Valencia. It is understood that Arsene Wenger is desperate to bring in an experienced player to link up with Cesc Fabregas next year, after the loss of Gilberto Silva and Mathieu Flamini.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Baraja has a wealth of experience, inclduing 38 caps for Spain and over 15 years of top flight Spanish football experience.

Baraja has hinted recently that his future may lie elsewhere, and the lure of one year in the Premiership will be very difficult for the midfielder to turn down.

It is understood that Arsenal are set to offer Valencia £1.5 million for the player.
