Middlesbrough are considering making a £7m offer for Bolton's midfielder Kevin Nolan. Nolan had been linked with a move to Everton in the summer that did not materialise.
A January move for the player could add much strength to Boro's squad, however, Sammy Lee could be reluctant to sell a player considered so valuable to the club.
Kevin Nolan has previously been called-up to the England Under-21s, but also has Irish ancestry, so could also play for the Republic of Ireland at the full international level.
