Adams happy despite defeat

Adams happy despite defeat

30 October 2008 - 05:57

Tony Adams has admitted he was disappointed that his Portsmouth side lost on Wednesday night against Liverpool, but confessed there were plenty of positives to take out of the game.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip
  • Gabriel Magalhaes to sign new Arsenal deal

  • "It’s hard to be pleased when you have lost 1-0, but for a first game in charge it has been OK," the former Arsenal great said in The Sun. "If they show that level of commitment I will be very happy."

A late Steven Gerrard penalty was enough to see off Pompey, despite their valiant efforts.
