Newcastle interim manager Joe Kinnear has revealed that the club has no intention of selling England international striker Michael Owen in the January transfer window. Tottenham are rumoured to be interested in the forward.

  • However, Kinnear was eager to point out tha tthe club have no intention to sell any of their best assets.



    “I think the club has to keep Michael Owen and players like him," Kinnear told the Sunday Sun.



    "This is a big club and Michael is a big player.



    “It will cost a lot of money to replace him. I would keep him here. I feel the same way as Kevin Keegan about him.



    “I don’t know the economics of what is happening — I think that will be addressed — but I would keep Michael here.”
