Ramos nets £1.7m compo

07 November 2008 - 07:30

Tottenham have agreed to pay Spanish coach Juande Ramos to 'leave quietly', and have agreed terms on a compensation package worth about £1.7 million. Ramos was previously earning £3.5 million a year.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • It is understood Ramos had over 2 and a half years left on his deal to run, but the club decided to sack the Spaniard and opt for Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp.

It is understood that Ramos is happy with the outcome.

It means that the cost of Tottenham sacking Ramos and hiring Harry Redknapp cost well over £7 million, including the £5 million to bring Redknapp in from Portsmouth.
