Chelsea chase Santa Cruz

Chelsea chase Santa Cruz

13 November 2008 - 05:47

Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is considering a move for Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz. It is understood that Scolari is reportedly ready to make a £9 million offer for the Peruvian forward. Santa Cruz spent his early years playing in the Bundesliga for Bavarian giants Bayern Munich, before making a move to the Premiership where his career has since flourished.

  • Luiz Felipe Scolari is reportedly in the market for another striker this January transfer window, and Santa Cruz has emerged as the top target.

Despite the stunning form of French striker Nicolas Anelka, it is believed that another forward will be brought in to supplement Anelka.

Santa Cruz may have quite a hefty price tag, however, as Paul Ince has already suggested he has no intentions of selling the talented frontman.

If Chelsea cannot land the forward in January, they will make another move for him in the summer.
