  • Micheal Mancienne - just 20 years old - has received a surprise call-up to the full England squad for the friendly with Germany even though an in-form Jonathan Woodgate is not.

He is been a Chelsea player for twelve years and made his debut for their reserve squad while he was still at school ! He is currently on loan at Wolves until the end of next month.

He plays as a right-back at Wolves and he has been the runner-up in the supporters 'Young Player of the Year' award. He is been considered as one of the best talents in England.

Although he was offered to represent Seychelles in the international level football, he rejected that offer to play for England.

He said that he would love to play alongside John Terry, the England captain, his idol. Terry stated that the young lad is very good and his form at Wolves speak for him.

"He has impressed for Wolves, we sent him there to let him play first team football. If he plays regularly for them he surely has a chance to come back and play for Chelsea".

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy said that he is a great defender, and "I am thrilled with his performances".

The England U-21 boss Stuart Pearce was the first to call him up to his squad while Mancienne was the U-18 captain. Pearce is a keen admirer of the youngster and had commented that Mancienne is the best player in the England U-21 squad.
