Gilberto wants Arsenal stay

Arsenal's vice-captain Gilberto Silva has insisted that he wants to stay at the club and sign a new contract, despite interest from Valencia. The player has 18 months left on his current deal and has found his place in midfield taken by Mathieu Flamini in recent weeks.

  • "After this year I have one more year left on my contract and we will see if I can sort it out, like we did the last time my contract was down to its last 12 months," Gilberto told the Daily Star.



    "I have always said I want to stay at the club."
