Everton sign Jo from Man City

Everton sign Jo from Man City

02 February 2009 - 13:20

Everton has offered a loan deal until the end of season for Manchester City's striker Jo until the end of the season.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd set to hold contract talks with experienced star
  • The Brazilian striker, Jo, who arrived at Man City with high hopes is currently in the Everton radar. Robert Moyes wants to "rescue the player" by signing him on loan until the end of the season.

The young Brazilian needs a work permit to play for Everton and latest reports suggest that the paperwork is going on.

Everton is in short of strikers, Moyes has asked Tim Cahill to do the "lone striker" role in the last few games. Louis Saha, the only striker that Everton has, is injured and the Toffees need a backup player.

Jo, who arrived at Manchester City with high hopes, had not been enjoying good form and was not favoured by boss Mark Hughes. It cost Man City £18m to land the Brazilian from CSKA Moscow.

Jo would be hoping to complete the loan switch and revive his career in the Merseyside.
