Schuster wants Ballack

28 July 2007 - 16:50

New Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has admitted he is interested in German midfielder Michael Ballack. The German failed to really impress in his first season in the Premiership and Mourinho has stated that he is not looking to sell any of his current crop of players.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • However, Real Madrid are sniffing around Arjen Robben and Michael Ballack as they look to regroup for their next La Liga onslaught.

The fee suggested could be as much as £10m, and his wages would not be a problem for the Spanish giants; however Jose Mourinho will be keen to hang on to a player that he will feel has a lot more to provide to the Chelsea double-winning side.
