The Reds pay £2.9m per Keane goal

The Reds pay £2.9m per Keane goal

04 February 2009 - 03:56

Robbie Keane's six month "loan" at Anfield has proved costly. Rafa bought Keane for £20.3m from the Spurs.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Rafael Benitez and Liverpool are "losers" in the transfer market - the Robbie Keane deal - proves it. Liverpool sold Keane back to Spurs for £15m. He was bought for £20.3m and he played only six months !

Keane has scored only seven goals in 28 games and that would make the cost per goal equaling £2.9m ! That is some money to spend as "goal bonus"!

Liverpool did not buy any players in the January transfer window and has loaned out the "out of favour" Jermaine Pennant to Portsmouth.

The Reds do not have a 'goal getter' other than the in-form Fernando Torres. But, can he win the Premier League for them ?
