Manchester United youngster Daniel Sturridge would leave the club if he is not offered a better contract, he rejected a £45,000-a-week wages offer. He is City's young player of the year.

  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?
  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?

  • Daniel Sturridge has turned down the contract offered by the club saying he wants an improvement on the basic wages. He was offered £45,000-a-week, but, the player wants £75,000-a-week and has informed the club that he will leave if he is not offered an improved contract.

Mark Hughes is reportedly angry at the 19-year old's attitude and believes he has been ill adviced by his representatives.

"I don't think there's much leeway to negotiate now. I am disappointed about how it has turned out." said an unhappy Hughes.

Sturridge is scouted by many teams including Villa and Everton.
