Stewart Downing is a target for Blackburn, according to reports from Lancashire this evening. Eyefootball has heard reports that Sam Allardyce is a big admirer of the England international, and will offer £10 million for the Middlesbrough man.

  • Stewart Downing is reluctant to stay at the Riverside and player Championship football, and has told his advisors to find him a move back to the Premiership.



    Blackburn are ready to use some of the £17 million from the Roque Santa Cruz sale to bring Stewart Downing to the club.



    Any deal will be expected to be completed within three weeks.
