According to reports this morning, Javier Mascherano is set to ask for a transfer from Liverpool in the January transfer window as he lines up his dream move to the Camp Nou with Barcelona.
Talk this morning suggests that Liverpool are bracing themselves for a £25 million offer from Barcelona from the Argentina international.
Barcelona may even be willing to swap Yaya Toure as part of the deal for the Liverpool midfielder; as Yaya Toure's agent recently suggested other clubs other than Man City are interested in the Ivory Coast international's signature.
Mascherano had been linked with an Anfield exit during the summer, but a deal failed to materialise.
