Blackburn chasing Beattie

Blackburn chasing Beattie

11 January 2010 - 13:41

According to reports, Blackburn are chasing Stoke City striker James Beattie. It is believed that Rovers' boss Sam Allardyce is preparing a £3 million bid for the player.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Beattie has fallen out of favour after a well-publicised falling out with Tony Pulis the Stoke boss.

Blackburn are now set to take advantage and make an offer.

"Benni McCarthy or somebody like that would have to leave before we could bring in James Beattie," said Allardyce.

"We have four strikers and that is more than enough. Unfortunately, those four have not delivered the goals we need."
