Steve Bruce has decided to push for the signing of Salvador Cabanas, the Paraguay striker who represents Mexican side Club America.
Cabanas has had a fantastic season just gone, scoring many goals including one game where he put home four.
The player is reportedly a target for Bruce on loan initially, but there will be the option to make the deal permanent.
If rumours are to be believed, Cabanas will arrive in England next week to undergo a medical.
