Fernando Torres has called on the club owners to make a move for top class signings in the January transfer window. The Spain international striker is worried about the lack of progress in the transfer market this year.
Torres said: âItâs frustrating. We finished second last season. This season should have been a turning point for us â a chance to do something great.
âManchester United sold Carlos Tévez and Cristiano Ronaldo, while Chelsea didnât sign anyone. But it hasnât been. Itâs now the ownersâ turn. They have to sign players so that this does not happen again.
âIf we want to compete with United and Chelsea we need a much, much more complete squad. We need more genuinely first-class players and we canât let our best players leave.â
