Man Utd striker Wayne Rooney has insisted that his club are capable of winning the Champions League, whilst also claiming he is desperate to do so with his team after last season's defeat to AC Milan.
United performed admirably last term, getting to the Champions League semi-final but failed in getting past AC Milan, who eventually went on to win the competition for the 7th time.
The Red Devils carried a 3-2 aggregate lead into the second-leg in Milan before succumbing 3-0 to crash out of the competition with Kaka the inspiration for AC Milan.
"I'm desperate to win the Champions League having got so close last year," said Rooney.
"We didn't play the way we can in the semi-final and that cost us away against Milan.
"Hopefully we can go on and get to the final this year.
"We have got that little bit more experience and the players that have been brought in can add freshness towards the end of the season."
