Manchester City have concluded a deal to sign Hamburg defender Jerome Boateng. The player will link up with his new club after he returns from international duty with Germany at the World Cup.
Boateng has put pen to paper on a five year deal that will see him slot into City's defence.
"This is a very good signing for Manchester City and I am pleased to bring Jerome to the club," City manager Roberto Mancini told the club website.
"He is a young player who is already of a very high quality, but I think he can continue to improve at City."
