Arsenal star still hunted by Barca

Arsenal star still hunted by Barca

07 June 2010 - 18:01

The summer's big transfer saga took a new twist today, when Barcelona's director general Joan Olivier revealed that Arsenal did not ask for double the fee for Cesc Fabregas; instead insisting the player wasn't for sale.

  • Chelsea ready to pay €75m for Eduardo Camavinga
  • Chelsea planning move for Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli

  • "They said they would not sell, it's logical therefore that they have not set a price for him," Joan Olivier said as he left a Barcelona board meeting.

"We made a formal offer. The only official response we have from Arsenal is that they are not ready to sell the player, for which it would be difficult for them to be putting a price when they say they are not selling."
