Alan Pardew, the Newcastle boss, has confirmed that his club are in the race to sign Paris St Germain striker Mevlut Erdinc.
A report suggests that Newcastle will bid around 8 million GBP for the striker.
The player has 10 caps for Turkey and is widely regarded as one of the best players from the country.
Erdinc has spent the majority of his career playing in France, firstly with Sochaux and then with PSG.
