Villas-Boas the new Chelsea boss

Villas-Boas the new Chelsea boss

22 June 2011 - 05:06

Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Andre Villas-Boas, and the 33 year old boss will take over Carlo Ancelotti's duties from July 1st. Chelsea have paid a reported 13.2m GBP buyout clause to bring Jose Mourinho's former scout to Stamford Bridge.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Ironically, Villas-Boas spent three years working for Chelsea under Jose Mourinho, so chairman Roman Abramovich is already well aware of the qualities of the coach.

He helped Porto to a domestic double as well as Europe League glory last year; and these successes have left Abramovich suitably impressed to sign a reported four year contract with Chelsea.

Villas-Boas will be given a 35m GBP transfer kitty at Stamford Bridge.
