Wenger busy building new Arsenal

03 July 2011 - 05:24

Arsene Wenger has been busy this summer; three of his top players have all been linked with a move away from the Emirates, and now for the first time the French boss has admitted that he is busy looking for new players.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • "Currently, everyone is standing still," Wenger said. "Everyone expects everyone else to make the first move. Everyone holds on to their cards, hoping for the major transfer. Nobody blinks until late July, early August. Then we will analyse the gaps in each team. But I am very active on the phone."

Should Cesc Fabregas leave; it is expected that Ricardo Alvarez will arrive from Velez Sarsfield. Meanwhile, Gael Clichy's departure could open up a move for Newcastle defender Jose Enrique.
