Aston Villa hunt Aiden McGeady

Aston Villa have made an offer of £7m to Spartak Moscow for Scotland international winger Aiden McGeady, according to reports. Alex McLeish has decided to make McGeady the replacement for Stewart Downing, who joined Liverpool last week.

The 25 year old has struggled for form since completing a move to Russia in 2010, and is desperate to try his luck in the Premier League.

McLeish has submitted an official offer on Saturday via club representatives, and has yet to hear back from the Russian side who are considering the offer.
