Liverpool chasing Luuk de Jong

Liverpool could make an offer for young Dutch star Luuk de Jong, the FC Twente striker who has enjoyed two very successful seasons in the Eredivisie.

According to reports, Liverpool's scouts have been personally monitoring de Jong over the past six months.

De Jong had been given his break at the club by then manager Steve McClaren, and has since gone from strength to strength, eventually taking the place of Bryan Ruiz who joined Fulham this summer.

De Jong has already acquired 3 caps scoring one goal for the Netherlands.
